The impedance will vary depending on the value of capacitor to the inductance.

But estimate the capacitance - work out the impedance at that frequency - divide by 16 and you will have the impedance of the tapping

(L and C have the same impedance at resonance -the coil is 4:1 ratio which has a 16:1 impedance ratio).

The circuit diagram for the MW receiver I found at the bottom of the data sheet (fig 2 from http://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pdf/view/39985/SANYO/LA1600.html) seems to suggest using a ferrite rod aerial with 121 turns for the tuned winding and 30 turns to couple to the IC. Although this does not give you the impedance, it may give you a starting point for experimenting if you are winding your own.

Antenna Input Impedance

Post by charles on Sun Jan 27, 2013 5:26 pm

Does anyone know the antenna input impedance (pin 1) of the LA1600 AM receiver IC? The data sheets seem to include every tiny detail except that one important detail. Any help would be appreciated. Best Regards, Charles
